Supporting Grieving Children When Going Back to School

Going back to school after losing a loved one can be difficult for any grieving child, but our research shows children do best when they stick to a routine as much as possible.


There will be many firsts in grief, and while so much is outside of your control, being there for your child can help support them as they head back to school.


⭐ In addition to the reminders below, don't forget to add a back-to-school milestone for your child in The Smile Network! Supporters can post encouraging words for the child to let them know they have people in their corner.
